About Whiting Bay Hall...

The Hall was opened in 1927 and is now on Historic Scotland's list of Buildings of Special Architectural Interest (Category C(S)).

Whiting Bay Hall is the largest of Arran's village halls and has a public entertainment license for 350 people. It can also provide full stage lighting (through Whiting Bay Club of Drama & Music) and sound facilities.

The Hall is used weekly by various local groups for activities such as badminton classes, Drama Club rehearsals, a local Market Day, band rehearsals and the Thursday Club (Senior Citizens' group). Throughout the year it plays host to numerous events like the Isle of Arran Music Festival, the Arran Dramafest, live music concerts (from classical ensembles and opera to folk, jazz and rock groups) and various trade sales and fundraising events.

The Hall also hosts the local children's Hallowe'en and Christmas parties, is the venue for any public meetings and is popular as a venue for wedding dances, birthday parties and even funeral services. The Hall also operates as the local Polling Station on Election days and hosts Surgeries for our local MSP.

The Hall Management Committee is also responsible for the maintenance and administration of Sandbraes Park and its children's play area.
